Privacy

This site is a set of static documents. There is no account, no form, no comment box, no newsletter and no shopping cart, so there is very little to describe. What follows is what is unavoidably recorded, which third parties a page load contacts, and what happens to an email you send.

Forge Notes publishes documentation. It does not sell anything, does not process payments, does not ask for a wallet connection and never asks a reader to identify themselves. Nothing on this site asks you to type anything into it.

What this site collects directly

Nothing. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, no session cookie and no local storage used by this site's own code. A page is HTML and a stylesheet, and it works with scripting disabled apart from the navigation drawer on small screens.

What a web server necessarily records

Any web server records the requests it serves. That normally includes the address requested, the time, the response code, the amount of data sent, the browser's user agent string and the network address the request came from. These entries exist so that a server can be operated and defended at all, and they are produced by the hosting layer rather than by anything written into these pages.

The same applies to any network in front of the site, such as a content delivery or security layer, which will keep its own request records for the same operational reasons. This is standard for every site on the public web and is mentioned here because it is the honest answer to what is recorded, rather than a claim that nothing is.

Third parties a page load contacts

Three external origins are requested when a page on this site loads, and each one receives the ordinary information any web request carries.

  • A public content delivery network, for the Bootstrap stylesheet, the Bootstrap icon font and the Bootstrap script bundle.
  • A web font service, for the three typefaces used across the site.
  • Nothing else. There is no embedded video, no social widget, no comment platform, no chat widget and no advertising network.

If you would rather not contact those origins, a content blocker will stop them. The site remains readable without them: the typography falls back to system fonts, the icons stop rendering and the mobile navigation drawer stops opening, and every word of every page is still there.

Notes link out to program documentation, explorers and, where a paragraph is about the market layer, to a commercial platform. Following any of those links takes you to a site with its own operators and its own policies, and this workshop has no visibility into what happens once you arrive there. Links exist because they support a claim or mark a boundary, not because the destination has been audited.

Email

If you write to the address on the contact page, that message and the address it came from are held in an ordinary mailbox for as long as it is useful to have the correspondence. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. It is not shared, sold or passed to anyone. Ask for a message to be deleted and it will be deleted.

Children

This is technical documentation about token construction and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, so it collects nothing from children either.

Changes to this page

If the site ever adds something that changes any of the above, this page changes first and says what changed. As it stands there is no mechanism on this site capable of collecting anything about you, and that is the intended state rather than a temporary one.
